Yankees’ star first baseman revealed the team he wants to retire with
Since joining the team in 2021, Anthony Rizzo has been a crucial member of the New York Yankees, and he freely admits that he doesn’t see that status changing anytime soon.
Rizzo was greeted warmly upon his return to Wrigley Field on Saturday during the Yankees’ game against his old team, the Chicago Cubs. Before the game, the former 2016 World Series champion revealed which team he wants to hang up his cleats with, and Yankees fans can rest easy knowing it is the Bronx Bombers (h/t Michael Sakuraba of New York Yankees on SI), according to MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch on X:
Rizzo declared, “I really hope to retire as a Yankee.”
