Ben Tozer admits to being caught off guard by the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ cameras, with a dressing room rant at Paul Mullin being

aired for all to see.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Two prominent figures in the Red Dragons camp briefly butted heads during the half-time interval of a crucial National League clash

with promotion rivals Notts County. Wrexham found themselves trailing at the interval – in a contest they would eventually win in the

most dramatic of fashions – and no tongues were bitten as fingers were pointed in various directions and the air at SToK Racecourse turned blue.

WHAT TOZER SAID

Tozer has told the Men In Blazers podcast when asked about seeing his expletive-filled discussion included in the documentary series

which follows Wrexham’s every move on and off the pitch: “In that moment, if I had known the camera was there then I would never

have said it. It’s one of them where I’ve come in at half-time and a lot of occasions, you see the camera there and think I need to get a

lot off my chest here but I can’t because the camera is there. You don’t want to be like you are doing it for the cameras, you need to be

authentic. In that moment, I didn’t know the camera was there. It is nice to see those real moments that you don’t capture very often

with the cameras being there. But we are an honest group of players so you don’t often have to question each other. Everyone makes

mistakes, just get on with it.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wrexham went on to win the game in question 3-2, with Ben Foster saving a stoppage-time penalty to wrap up all three points. From

there, Phil Parkinson’s side held their nerve and landed the National League title in record-breaking style.

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Tempers continue to flare occasionally at Wrexham, with passion very much part of the game, but Tozer and Mullin have helped

to push the Red Dragons into contention for another promotion – with the Welsh outfit currently riding high in League Two.
