BREAKING:Two Canadiens players set to be traded

I think we are getting close to the best parts of the hockey season.

The two biggest off-season events are the free agent market and the draft, where your team’s identity can alter drastically.

The Habs’ situation will be fascinating to watch because they will draft fifth overall and we can anticipate Hughes spending a minimum amount given the increased salary cap of $88 million for the upcoming season.

But in the interim, deals are possible, and Frank Seravalli has released a list of 25 individuals who may relocate.
Two Canadiens players are on the list: Christian Dvorak (number 23) and David Savard (number 18).
On the podium are Nikolaj Ehlers, Martin Necas, and Mitchell Marner.

The final player on the list is Trevor Zegras.

But that should come as no surprise to players from Canada.

Regarding Savard, we were forced to wait until the very last minute of the trade deadline to find out if he intended to remain in Montreal. He did in the end, but it doesn’t imply he’ll begin the campaign in the city. As valuable and good as the Quebecer is, he won’t be in the organization’s long-term plans because the team has a number of talented young defenders in its lineup who deserve more playing time.

Up to July 1st, the right-hander will get $3.5 million. He might be a good addition to a team that needs defensive steadiness. He may depart before the season begins, but if not, anticipate hearing a lot about him in March of the following year. #Limited-duration deals

Christian Dvorak’s name didn’t get much attention during the trade deadline because he missed a large portion of the 2023–2024 season due to injury.

At the conclusion of the season, he too will be a free agent. He also obviously won’t be extended.

At $4.45 million in salary, he would be extremely affordable to acquire. His contract is the issue, but at half his money, I think a team could give him a try as a third center. The Oilers may have acquired him a few months ago in the mold of Adam Henrique; he is a responsible 200-foot player who occasionally scores points.

Would Montreal dare to utilize their third retention for Dvorak, given that it is presently holding back two salaries (for Jake Allen and Jeff Petry)? We’ll see.
