Shaka Toney, a defensive end for the Washington Commanders, was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for violating the league’s gambling policy. Toney was found to have placed bets on NFL games during the 2022 season. Alongside several other players, he was banned for at least the 2023 season. Despite being reinstated in April 2024, Toney was released by the Commanders shortly after his return. His release is part of a broader roster overhaul under the Commanders’ new management
