Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Crystal Palace’s defender Marc Guehi

Marc Guehi, a defender for Crystal Palace, is a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Mail reports that following a transfer meeting this week at the North London club, the 23-year-old central defender was identified as a January target.

Tottenham will now need to make plans for the January transfer window, particularly in light of their recent setbacks with injuries. Due to a hamstring injury, summer acquisition Micky Van de Ven has been out for several weeks, thus Spurs will need to try to add a strong defender in January.

Spurs may find Guehi to be a valuable addition as he has established himself as one of the top young defenders. The former Chelsea defender has been connected to a move away from Selhurst Park for several months, but it’s unclear if the Eagles are willing to approve of his leaving in the middle of the campaign.

His prospects of becoming a regular starter for the England national team will be enhanced by signing with a major club like Tottenham. The chance to join Tottenham will also be an alluring offer for the player, who will also want to compete at the greatest level.

He is regarded highly at Crystal Palace, though, so the Eagles might ask for more money for him. Whether Tottenham is willing to shell out a big sum of money to get his signing during the January transfer window will be interesting to watch.
