“They’ve earned it”: Lions locker Room Heats up Ahead Michigan Title Game…

ALLEN PARK — For many players in the locker room, the next two games for the Detroit Lions could be the most significant of their lives. With a victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday and some additional support, they can maintain their hopes of securing the NFC’s second seed. The Lions will host their first-ever playoff game at Ford Field the following week.

Even while both games are very important, there is one more game that is scheduled in between that is very important to a few Lions players: the 2024 CFP National Championship. The Division 1 college football champion for this year will be decided on Monday at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, between Michigan, ranked #1, and Washington, ranked #2.

There are four players from the two schools in the Lions’ locker room. The only other former Huskie is Levi Onwuzurike, but the other three are former Wolverines: Aidan Hutchinson, Graham Glasgow, and Donovan Peoples-Jones.

Peoples-Jones had expressed his excitement earlier in the week about Michigan competing in the big game. The excitement of Hutchinson and Glasgow, two other former Wolverines, eclipses his happiness, though. Hutchinson in particular believes that Michigan will win because “it’s destiny.”

“They’ve earned it, and I really do believe it’s going to happen,” Hutchinson said. “I think the guys we have on that team, with the great leadership, they’re going to get it done, no matter what adversity takes place.”

“I thought that they (Michigan), in regards to the Bama game, didn’t really play their best football,” Glasgow said. “I thought the defense played amazingly. The offense had some really, really good drives too. Special teams left a lot to be desired, so I feel like if they clean everything up, everything will go well.”
