GMB’s Susanna Reid shares terrifying mugging ordeal which left her ‘shaken’
Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid shockingly shared her mugging ordeal with viewers – on her second day back in the ITV studio after her summer break
In a candid moment on Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid shared her harrowing experience of being mugged, leaving viewers in shock. During the episode on 4 September, Susanna delved into her past trauma, recounting to the ITV audience: “About 25 years ago, I had my handbag cut off of me by a mugger. You do feel very shaken, not just for the day or the 24 hours but for quite a long period of time.”
The discussion widened to include guests’ experiences with crime. According to Express, Andrew Pierce also recounted an attack he suffered, recalling the moment he was violently robbed of his phone: “They just whacked me in the street. It was in my hand and it was a salutary lesson. I very rarely now.”
Susanna’s co-host Ed Balls tried to lighten the mood amidst the serious conversation, joking: “Were they trying to steal your phone or just to whack you?”.
Susanna didn’t seem to appreciate the quip, giving a sympathetic sound, while Andrew speculated that his attacker probably didn’t know who he was, saying: “They came from behind. But that’s why I’m also very agitated about these electric modified bikes”, reports the Mirror .
It comes after Susanna’s notable absence from the show on Tuesday (3 September). She had just returned to GMB on Monday after a lengthy summer break where she spent time in Ibiza with her three children. She shares three three sons, Sam, Finn and Jack with her ex-husband Dominic Cotton.
