Red Bull gives verdict after Max Verstappen verbal outbursts in Hungary

Amidst ongoing speculation that he may not even be fully committed to the team till 2025, the triple world champion’s bad and increasingly worsening temper during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend was noticeable.

It was reported by Dutch media that a modified ‘Verstappen provision’ in Red Bull mentor Dr. Helmut Marko’s contract effectively eliminates the 26-year-old’s option to leave before his 2028 deal ends.

Marko disputes it.

He said ORF, “No, it is definitely not the case that Max will definitely stay now because I have a different contract.” The contract has been modified for me, not for him.

I will, of course, not discuss how it has been changed in public. However, Verstappen is not directly affected by it.

It seems plausible that Verstappen’s ill disposition and angry outbursts in Hungary were caused by his car’s poor performance and what he called a “shit strategy” on Sunday.

Max Verstappen, the “bad boy,” was back, according to the daily De Limburger. Childlike, tense, and the greatest whiner.

According to one opinion, Verstappen didn’t get enough sleep since he stayed up until nearly 3.30 am on race day to complete a long-distance simulation racing stint.

Marko disproves that theory as well.

Max claimed he didn’t recall what time he went to bed in Imola, but it was probably even later. Despite this, he claimed to have won the race. Max’s everyday schedule differs greatly from mine and that of the average person.

There are others who believe that the current world championship leader has just forgotten what it’s like to be unable to comfortably dominate Formula 1 – something he did in 2022 and, to a greater extent, last year.

Christian Danner, a former Formula One driver, told the Bild newspaper that Verstappen had lost his cool. “You feel at ease when you drive a car that you can consistently maintain the lead in. He simply needs to grit his teeth and battle once more, though.

He feels uneasy soon after, and that leads to an eruption of the feelings that were heard and seen throughout the race. Although it is undoubtedly quite enjoyable on the one hand, the team does not find it particularly humorous at the moment.

It’s a brave step, Danner continued, to call his strategy department a failure. They are all true professionals. Red Bull’s strategies work flawlessly 99 times out of 100. It’s unhelpful the way he talked about it.

However, Verstappen is predicted by former F1 team manager Gunther Steiner to make a quick recovery.

It takes some getting used to being the pursuer again if you’ve been the dominant one for as long as Max did, he added. After this passes, Max’s fighting prowess will once more be on display.

In response to the question, “Should a triple world champion behave better?” Steiner said, “Not everyone is the same, and Max is still young.”

Lewis Hamilton was the one who shook hands with his teammate champion in the interview “pen,” in fact, after Verstappen held him accountable for their crash in Hungary.

The seven-time world champion stated, “I broke the ice instead of just walking past him.” “I believed that to be the proper show of respect.

I consider it to have been a racing event and have no issues. We continue on, it didn’t work out, and he sent it down the inside.

Marko concurs that Verstappen and Red Bull can only succeed by putting forth more effort.

The car lacks the confidence and balance that Max needs, or to put it another way, we can’t manage to be ahead right now on our own, he remarked.

“But it’s not like all is lost—we are leading in both world championships. Though it is present, the lead does not give comfort. We must therefore put in more effort and produce more.

We have no margin for error, or else the McLarens will be present.
