Kristaps Porziņģis returns from injury and puts on a fantastic display for Celtic

When Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks began, the Boston Celtics had not played in over a week after their rout of the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. Kristaps Porziņčis of Boston played in his first game since he was injured during the team’s first-round triumph against the Miami Heat.

However, any worries the Porziņąis or Celtics had regarding rust were soon allayed.

In the first half of Game 1, Boston overpowered Dallas and took a 63-42 advantage. Late in the first quarter, the Celtics went on a 9-0 run and created a large lead. Porziņģis was largely responsible for that.

He made a deep three-pointer in one sequence. On the other end, he grabbed the lost ball in addition to blocking a jumper from Kyrie Irving. He passed the ball quickly to Jrue Holliday, who moved it upcourt and found Sam Hauser in the corner for a three-pointer.
Porziņģis concluded an outstanding first half with a second three-pointer late in the second quarter.

With 7 of 9 field goals, 2 of 3 three-pointers, and 2 of 2 free throws, he concluded the first half with 18 points. PorziņĖis was +15, with two blocked shots, and three rebounds as well.
