Neraysho Kasanwirjo completes Rangers loan transfer as Feyenoord defender joins Ibrox revamp
The versatile defender passed his medical in Glasgow earlier today
Neraysho Kasanwirjo has completed his move to Rangers on loan from Feyenoord.
The versatile defender, who can play at centre-back and on the right-hand side, was wanted by manager Philippe Clement who has always hoped to bolster his defensive options after allowing Ben Davies to leave on loan to Birmingham City earlier this week. The 22-year-old was announced as the newest acquisition this evening ahead of the window’s closure after the formalities of his move from the Eredivisie giants were completed.
Kasanwirjo may yet be available to play on Sunday against Celtic in the first derby clash of the season. The Dutchman spent last season on loan at Rapid Vienna in Austria and has also played midfield during his career.
He is a product of the Ajax youth system.
On his signing being completed, the defender said: “I’m very excited to join the club and play for the fans. I spoke with the coach who had a good feeling, and the most important thing for me is to play and help the team as much as I can.
“Rangers is a really big and traditional club. There are a lot of memories and you need to win games. I want to win and bring the level of the team up, so it’s a good step for me.
