In April 2024, Ella expressed her excitement about joining the Kentucky Wildcats, stating, “Couldn’t be more excited to be a wildcat!!! Thank you BBN for such a warm welcome!”

Her enthusiasm was evident, and fans embraced her with open arms.

However, due to injuries, Ella’s time with the Ohio University basketball team was cut short. She shared on Instagram, “Super excited to be graduating and moving in September! I loved Ohio, the people that I met changed my life.”

This transition led her to explore new opportunities, ultimately choosing to continue her basketball journey with the Kentucky Wildcats.

Ella comes from a family deeply rooted in athletics. Her mother, Lee Anne Pope, has a rich history in sports, being the daughter of Lynn Archibald, who coached at multiple universities, including BYU.

This legacy has undoubtedly influenced Ella’s passion and dedication to basketball.

Her commitment to Kentucky adds depth and experience to the Wildcats’ roster. Under the guidance of head coach Mark Pope, who took over the program in April 2024,

the team has seen significant improvements, including a historical milestone in their 91-83 victory over Missouri, where they shot 55% from beyond the arc, making 11 out of 20 attempts.

Kentucky fans have warmly welcomed Ella, and expectations are high for her contributions to the team’s success in the upcoming seasons. Her journey reflects resilience and adaptability, qualities that will undoubtedly serve her well as she dons the Wildcats jersey
