JUST IN:Sander Berge sends a message to fans after Burnley’s relegation

Without a doubt, Sander Berge believes Burnley’s exile from the Premier League will be brief.

After losing 2-1 to Tottenham over the weekend, the Clarets’ relegation was officially guaranteed with one game remaining.

It completes a terrible season for Vincent Kompany’s team, who have only managed 24 points from their 37 games played thus far.

Burnley has recently improved and, despite their dismal points return, looked like they would spice things up for a while.

Berge, who has been Burnley’s best player so far this season, thinks that the team will benefit from their success in the future.
“The standard for what’s to come is the progress we’ve made, the hard work everyone has made, and everyone wanting to get better and compete at this level with the best,” he said to Clarets+.

For us, daily improvement is the goal. After completing that, it’s time to take a moment to reflect and learn.

“One game remains, though, and that’s the beginning of preparing to return right away next year.”

Even though the Clarets’ season hasn’t been easy, the supporters have continued to support Kompany and his team.

“They’ve demonstrated the club’s identity: always stand up for what’s right, always be yourself, be proud of the team we play for, and wear the shirt with pride,” Berge continued.

Every week, they set the example for us, and we strive to make them proud of the work we do.

“This club will definitely be back in the Premier League, even though it didn’t happen this year.”
