JUST IN:Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo is set to make his return against Celtic

In the upcoming Old Firm derby at Parkhead on May 11, Rangers’ Rabbi Matondo, a winger, says he is expected to return from injury against Celtic.

The most recent meeting between the two Glasgow rivals ended in a 3-3 tie thanks to a stoppage-time equalizer scored by Matondo. He has since told The Daily Record that he may play this weekend for the first time in three games.

In a rivalry that will decide the season, the Gers take on Celtic. With three points between them and their main opponents in the Scottish Premiership standings, a victory is imperative for Philippe Clement’s team.

“We’ll see, that’s the goal,” Matondo stated. This week, we’re just checking boxes, but if it’s involved, I’ll be excited for the game.

Matondo commented on his goal, saying, “It would be unbelievable if I could score another one like that.” We’d prefer to have more points, but the title race is a good pressure point and where we want to be.

Matondo’s potential return to action this weekend against Celtic will be much anticipated by Clement, especially in light of his recent performance.

Only minutes after Abdallah Sima and Adam Idah traded late goals, Matondo produced the second of two stunning comebacks to make it 3-3 at Ibrox with a curling strike from well inside the area.

The Welsh international may be the difference maker for Rangers, who need to defeat their Old Firm opponents in order to have any chance of passing them in the Premiership. He is expected to return to Parkhead on May 11.

In his most recent outing at Ibrox, Matondo came on late for the Gers, and if he does so again, Celtic will be on high alert for another bolt from the light blue. At the time, Clement’s team was behind 2-1.
