Thomas Galdames, a target for the Rangers, has discussed his future with Godoy Cruz in front of a possible summer transfer to Ibrox.
The Gers shifted their focus to Gonzalo Conti, the adaptable left-back, and numerous European teams expressed interest in signing him.
Derek Clark of X has now recorded the Chilean’s comments regarding his future in Argentina following his team’s Tuesday (4 June) matchup against Estudiantes.
“Nothing is known yet; I have a contract that expires in December,” he stated. My desire has always been to perform in Europe. In order to leave anything for the club, I want to approach this market carefully. I have Godoy Cruz to thank for everything.
The Chilean mentioned that his current contract expires in December, suggesting that he may choose to stay in Argentina.
Rangers might be able to sign the defender this summer on a free transfer or possibly on a pre-agreement as a result.
Having said that, they might yet be able to persuade Godoy Cruz to sell him this summer in exchange for a transfer price.
Prior to the transfer window, the Gers were in the market for a center back, and even after Jose Cordoba joined Norwich City, they are still interested in signing one.
When combined with his versatility as a left and center player, his physical presence will undoubtedly help the Rangers defense.
Philippe Clement’s best chance this summer is to sign Galdames and avoid becoming outclassed by another team.
If the Light Blues can persuade the Chilean to relocate to Ibrox, their summer campaign may get underway.
