JUST IN:Hull City set to face Rovers as Tim Walter set for his first game

Hull City will play their first two preseason friendlies before Tim Walter’s stint at the MKM Stadium officially begins.

On July 23, City will play their first domestic match at the Eco-Power Stadium, home of the defeated League Two play-off semi-finalists.

The match will be overseen by former Tigers manager Grant McCann, and City will face former academy defender Tom Nixon, who completed his permanent move away from City on Tuesday.

On August 3, one week prior to the start of the Championship season, City will travel far south to Royal Berkshire to take on Reading at the SCL Stadium.

The Tigers are anticipated to add two home friendly to their calendar; details of those matches, which will both be against teams with higher standings, will be released when they become available.

As they did a year ago, City’s first team, Under-21s, and Under-18s will travel to Turkey early in their preseason schedule for a 10-day training camp at the Turkish FA’s Riva headquarters in Istanbul. As in previous seasons, it is anticipated that the Tigers will play two friendly games against Super Lig opposition, though those details have not yet been finalized.

Details on the club’s plans to send a group of supporters to Turkey for a portion of the players’ journey are anticipated to be released in the next few days.
