JUST IN:Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior is set to meet with club owner after playoff loss

In an attempt to help Hull City recover from the disappointment of missing the play-offs, vice-chairman Tan Kesler, owner Acun Ilicali, and a number of his players will be meeting with Liam Rosenior in the coming days.

West Brom’s resounding 3-0 victory over Preston on Saturday, along with the Tigers’ 1-0 loss at Plymouth Argyle, put an end to their ambitions of finishing in the top six. They chased hard the entire season.

Many were unhappy and frustrated in the Home Park away dressing room after Argyle’s comfortable home victory maintained them in the Championship and demoted Birmingham City.

Rosenior will be hurt by the realization that he did not place in the top six, and the team will need to make important decisions regarding the future of several players, such as Adama Traore, Greg Docherty, and Cyrus Christie, as well as plan for the summer and the upcoming season.

“I’ll probably sleep for four days straight,” the City manager said in jest to Hull Live reporter. “I’ll hang out with my friends and family for a while.

“You know me, I’m always on it, but I also have really important meetings with the players, so I need some time off. I have crucial meetings with Tan and Acun to discuss how to continue advancing this club.

“I just wanted to say thank you to everyone in the club; as I mentioned earlier, this has been the best year of my life. I’ve enjoyed every second of it, and we’ll be back stronger the next season.”
