Femke Bol has discussed her historic victory in the 400-meter hurdles at Lausanne, emphasizing her excellent form and strong finish.
At the Lausanne Diamond League, world champion Femke Bol created history once more by shattering her own meet record in the women’s 400-meter hurdles.
The audience and rivals were in complete amazement of the incredible performance the Dutch wonder gave.
Bol outran the field with an incredible time of 52.25 seconds, demonstrating his unparalleled quickness and accuracy.
“I’m still in excellent health, which is a huge plus. I have no illnesses or injuries. Today’s race was excellent, setting a meeting record. The goal of the Games’ 4×400 mixed relay was to win a medal. After the race, Bol said, “I knew it was doable when I got the stick and saw where the others were.”
Throughout the race, Bol displayed her famous sprint in the final 200 meters.
“I gave it my all in the final 200 meters, and the support I received from my teammates and the audience was amazing. Celebrating with everyone made it even more wonderful. It was an emotional moment, especially after such a difficult season,” she continued.
There was stiff rivalry behind Bol. Not too far behind, Rushell Clayton finished in a respectable second place with a time of 53.32 seconds.
Jamaican competitors Janieve Russell and Andrenette Knight both had excellent performances, placing third and fourth, respectively.
Italy’s Ayomide Folorunso demonstrated her growing potential in the hurdles by setting a personal best time of 55.08 seconds.
Other rivals, such as Belgian Paulien Couckuyt and Dutch competitor Cathelijn Peeters, also had their moments on the track. Couckuyt finished in 55.53 seconds, while Peeters finished in 56.28 seconds.
Even though Shamier Little from the USA had a more difficult race and finished in 58.57 seconds, everyone could see how determined she was.
Her victory also follows a string of noteworthy meetings with American hurdler Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, who has defeated Bol in important tournaments and set numerous world records.
But Bol took advantage of McLaughlin-Levrone’s absence to win the title in Lussane
Forward-looking Bol is still totally committed to her training and getting ready for the upcoming tournament, where she hopes to leave a lasting impression on the sports world.
