JUST IN:Christian Wilkins Explains Why He Joined the Raiders Instead of the Dolphins

Christian Wilkins, a defensive tackle, was one of the top free agents signed by the Las Vegas Raiders during the offseason. Despite having several suitors in free agency, he chose to sign with the Raiders.

He made the decision for a number of reasons, the most significant of which may have had to do with standout defensive end Maxx Crosby.

“Obviously, I’m simply looking for myself. My main goal is to find the finest support I can for No. 98. On the April 10 edition of the “Third and Long” podcast, Wilkins gave his reason for signing with the Raiders: “Playing next to Maxx Crosby will be a really cool experience.” “I just want to be able to help him and the younger guys because he’s a heck of a player and probably my favorite player in the league because of things he does and all of that stuff.”

Despite entering the NFL as a fourth-round selection in 2019, Crosby has already made a name for himself as one of the top defensive players in the division. It has been noticed by other players, who are keen to play alongside him. Wilkins and Crosby’s proximity to one another should greatly facilitate their respective tasks.

Christian Wilkins Joyful about fresh start

After five seasons, Christian Wilkins is leaving the Miami Dolphins. He had a great time playing for the team. He is a huge fan of Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce, though, and is thrilled about the opportunity to start over.

Wilkins remarked, “It’s just cool because it’s kind of like a fresh start.” And it’s simply the next phase of my life—that is, the next chapter in my story. Which is kind of amazing since I get to write it. It all began on March 14 when I officially signed the document.

That’s extremely awesome, then. Looking forward to simply joining what has already been somewhat established there. Just a positive vibe with head coach Antonio Pierce serving as a player’s coach and letting guys be who they are. Additionally, he was once a player, so he is familiar with the requirements.

Pierce is obviously having a good effect on the Raiders’ capacity to sign elite free agents.

Christian Wilkins Believes the Las Vegas Raiders Are Going in the Correct Way
The Raiders finished 8-9 in the previous campaign, but there are causes for hope. After a complete year under Antonio Pierce’s coaching, the squad finished the season with a 3-1 record and should be improved.

Christian Wilkins wants to travel to Las Vegas because he thinks the Raiders are on the rise

“It seems like it was a calling and my purpose to go on to this next chapter, this next journey, and to shine my light somewhere else,” Wilkins remarked. That being said, I’m excited about everything that will accompany it. I’m going in there with an open mind and the same mindset I’ve always had: grind hard and see where you end up.

“And I believe that the company is moving in the correct direction. Once more, there are a lot of team-related reasons to be excited about, and everything seems to be occurring just now. I just want to contribute as much as I can to that.
