With just six games remaining before the playoffs, Jaylen Brown, one of Boston’s key players, is out due to a left hand injury.
After the Celtics defeated OKC 135-100 on Wednesday, Brown was questioned about the injury, but he made careful to downplay it.
After the game, Brown told reporters, “I think I got a sprain or a strain in a ligament in my hand, but I think it’s fine.” Going forward, it’s not anything that worries me. It disturbed me a little bit tonight, but I think there’s nothing to worry about because you have to work through it and play through it in order to acquire more knowledge later on if things go worse.
Despite some soreness in his hand, he didn’t seem to let it hinder him too much on the court as he went 5–6 from the field, including 3–4 from behind the arc. also scored fifteen of his twenty-three points in the last quarter.
If Brown stays healthy throughout the postseason, the Celtics have a good chance of going far.
Because of his efforts this season on the defensive end, Al Horford, Brown’s teammate, thinks that JB should be selected to the NBA All-Defensive team.
Horford reportedly told reporters, “He wants the responsibility on the defensive end,” according to Taylor Snow. “Many may claim they desire such challenges, yet he is up against a wide range of opponents. He has to match up against two different players, Zion Williamson and Stephen Curry, respectively, while guarding them. Being completely objective and unambiguous, he is First Team All-Defense. He is deserving of the role.
