NEW YORK (AP) — The WNBA reported on Friday that A’ja Wilson is leading Caitlin Clark by slightly more than a thousand votes in the preliminary fan vote for the All-Star Game.

Aliyah Boston, Clark’s Indiana teammate, is in third place, trailing the leads by over 40,000 votes.

Wilson is averaging 27.9 points and 11.3 rebounds this season, which is amazing. She’s received 217,773 votes. Clark, with 216,427, is right behind.

Arike Ogunbowale of Dallas is ranked fifth, and Breanna Stewart of New York is ranked fourth. The only other rookie in the top 10 is Chicago’s Angel Reese, who came in seventh in the voting. In 11th and 12th place, fellow first-year players Cameron Brink and Kate Martin were just outside the top 10.

The first ten are completed by Sabrina Ionescu of New York in sixth place, Kelsey Plum of Las Vegas in eighth place, Napheesa Collier of Minnesota in ninth place, and Dearica Hamby of Los Angeles in tenth place.

The WNBA All-Stars and the American Olympic team will square off in the All-Star Game on July 20 in Phoenix.

The selection of All-Stars is determined by a combination of media (25%), current WNBA players (25%) and fan vote (50%).

The top ten vote-getters will be invited to the All-Star Game following the polling period, and players who are competing for the United States in the Olympics will remain on that squad. The coaches in the WNBA will select the remaining players from a group of the next 36 highest vote-getters; this group must consist of nine guards and fifteen post players.

Voting for their own players is not permitted for coaches.

On July 2, the final rosters for the WNBA All-Star Game will be revealed.
