JUST IN:Burnley boss Vincent Kompany shouldn’t approve Anass Zaroury’s departure

The Clarets were maybe naive in assuming they could duplicate the same expansive game that had won them promotion, but they invested significantly and adhered to their values in the Premier League.

In an effort to keep Burnley competitive, Vincent Kompany spent over £100 million on trying to improve his team.

Aro Muric and Anass Zaroury were two players who excelled in the Championship but found it difficult to play in the Premier League, meaning that important players who were crucial to Burnley’s promotion were left out in the cold.

Burnley won the Championship with ease thanks to the play of Moroccan winger Zaroury, who appeared in 39 games across all competitions.

But from the beginning of the season, Zaroury’s playing time was restricted due to the addition of Wilson Odobert, Luca Koleosho, Jacob Bruun Larsen, and Mike Tresor by the club. As a result, he played the second half of the season on loan at Hull City.

Burnley invested last summer with the goal of staying in the Premier League, and now that they are not in the top division, the futures of a number of their important players are in doubt.

It would be wise for Burnley to keep Zaroury on staff. As Burnley looks to quickly turn things around, the Championship-proven winger will be eager to play regular first-team football again, and the Clarets would be wise to remain faithful to a player who has already shown his value.
