JUST IN : The HUSKIES Reveals Injury Status Of RB From Last Match…

Running back Dillon Johnson is reportedly expected to participate in the College Football National Championship in Houston next Monday, which is a huge injury boost for the Washington Huskies.

HOW WAS DILLON JOHNSON’S INJURY CAUSED?

In the last minute of the Sugar Bowl game against the Texas Longhorns, Johnson sustained an injury. After their victory, there were several questions regarding his eligibility for the National Championship, particularly because the young back had to be wheeled off to the locker room.

Johnson was seen writhing in agony in the moments following his accident, and trainers had to assist him in getting to his feet. These were not good scenes.

Not helping either was Washington Huskies head coach Kalen DeBoer’s update following the game, which revealed that Johnson’s foot injury sustained at the conclusion of the regular season was the cause.

DILLON JOHNSON’S INJURY STATUS AGAINST THE MICHIGAN WOLVERINES

The loss of Dillon Johnson would be disastrous for a Washington Huskies team that has relied much too heavily on its passing game to prosper.

Johnson had 21 carries for 49 yards and two scores in Monday’s 37-31 win over the Texas Longhorns. He had a significant role in the Huskies’ ability to control the game all night. As a result, if he is injured in the College Football Playoff National Championship game against the Michigan Wolverines, the Washington attack would suffer.

Fortunately, according to the most recent information, Johnson will not be forced to miss the game. In a radio interview on Tuesday, Washington offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb stated that the team “does expect him to play” when they travel to Houston for the championship game.

“X-rays taken at the Superdome were negative,” Grubb continued, according to Mike Vorel of the Seattle Times.

That is a really positive development for the Huskies. They are the underdogs versus the Wolverines going into the game, so they need all the weapons they can get.

Michael Penix Jr. is a serious threat to any squad, but he can’t do it on his own. With Johnson on the field, Washington should be able to field a more dynamic offense, making life more difficult for Michigan’s top-ranked defense.

Johnson should be at full strength when he takes the field at NRG Stadium.
