JUST IN : See Julian Humprey’s New Decision About Transfer Potal…

After saying he was entering the transfer portal again, Julian Humphrey has decided to stay with the team.

One of Georgia’s cornerbacks has been in the spotlight this week because of the uncertainty surrounding his future with the team. Julian Humphrey said before the Orange Bowl that he and teammate cornerback Daniel Harris would enter the transfer portal. Following the game, the two chose to remove their names from the portal and remain with the squad.

Following the first two statements, it was revealed last night that Humphrey would re-enter the transfer portal and use his three years of eligibility elsewhere. Humphrey decided to stay in Athens with the Bulldogs again just 21 hours later.

This was revealed in an On3 story, as was Humphrey’s reasons for staying with the Bulldogs. The piece includes an interview with Humphrey, allowing him to explain the confusion. The following observations are drawn from the interview.

“‘I took that into consideration a lot,’ Humphrey told DawgsHQ in an exclusive interview, speaking specifically on UGA’s continued pursuit. ‘I know with a great year at Georgia, I can get to the NFL. The more I thought about this, why would I leave Georgia for a couple more bucks? I want to be there, it is Georgia and that is one of the top premier programs in the country.'”

It is up to Humphrey whether he will be with the team by the conclusion of the transfer portal window, but it is wonderful news for Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp because they will not be losing a valuable piece to their defensive success starting in 2023.
