Coach Pat Kelsey of Louisville basketball and his staff have extended an offer to a second talent in the Class of 2025.
Kelsey has made an offer to a top-15 player in the ’25 class, less than twenty-four hours after he made one to Utah Prep 2025 point guard JJ Mandaquit. Brayden Burries, a shooting guard for Eleanor Roosevelt in San Bernadino, California, verified an offer from the Cardinals on social media.
The 6-foot-4 Burries, who is now receiving two dozen scholarship offers, is rated as the third shooting guard in the country for the ’25 class. Although Burries has stated to several outlets, including 247SPorts, that he intends to remain in the 25 class, he may reclassify into the 2024 class.
In addition to his unofficial trips to Duke, Houston, and UCLA, Burries made an official trip to Arizona in February.
He’s been receiving a lot of interest from a number of other colleges, including USC, San Diego State, Kansas, and Texas.
According to 247Sports, Burries is the No. 12 overall recruit in the national junior class.
Since his announcement two weeks ago, Pat Kelsey, the new basketball coach at the University of Louisville, has not stopped working.
As he’s been seen about town and in several national media interviews, Kelsey has been busy recruiting players and hiring personnel.
At L&N Stadium, Kelsey fielded a few punts while wearing a helmet and shoulder pads, and the plays were recorded for social media. He appeared to be energizing the stadium crowd as he waved and caught the second one behind his back.
Kelsey visited the U of L football complex on Friday.
And after that, he was at U of L’s Trager Indoor Facility practice. James Scott and Reyne Smith of Charleston, Nick Boyd of Florida Atlantic, Dante Maddox of Toledo, and Kelsey and his coaching staff were all visible inside the facility.
After viewing practice for around forty-five minutes, Kelsey spoke with football coach Jeff Brohm and his son, Brady.
Regarding having Kelsey hang out after his squad ended practice, Jeff Brohm was questioned.
“Well, we’re excited about all the sports teams here,” Brohm replied. “They all work really hard and do a terrific job. In basketball, of course, Coach Kelsey is currently recruiting and building the team. We want to support him in any way we can so that he can fill the Yum Center, play an exciting brand of basketball, win a lot of games, and enjoy himself immensely. I believe we have done so up to this point.
“Coach Brady Brohm has taken the lead in that regard to some extent. We follow his instructions without question. But many of decent folks. We want all of the sports programs here to succeed because they work so hard. We desire their all to succeed.”
