The Detroit Lions are preparing for their season finale before an eagerly awaited postseason. The Lions haven’t advanced to the postseason in a long time, despite having a fantastic season thanks in large part to their standout wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Despite having a fantastic season, St. Brown was not selected for the Pro Bowl. For the Lions, he has had a career year with 112 receptions, 9 touchdowns, and 1371 yards. After not making the Pro Bowl, he was quite vocal about it, but now he’s focused on winning the starting job in the following seasons.
What’s more, Brown and Jared Goff worked together to lead the Detroit Lions to their first division championship since 1993. Therefore, their postseason appearance makes the fan base far happier than Brown’s NFL Pro Bowl selection. Amon-Ra experiences a comparable level of attention ahead of the postseason. He still made a lot of remarks, though, about not being selected after such an amazing year.
Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown Is “Hot” For Missing The Pro Bowl
The receiver was candid about his feelings on being snubbed as he was quoted in his press conference saying:
“The receivers that got picked, they’re great players, but I was hot,” St. Brown said, via ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “I guess I didn’t do enough during the season, so I’ve got to go harder.”
He is justified in his anger at not receiving the distinction after such a successful year, but he is also correct about the other receivers being selected. He was upset that he didn’t receive the go-ahead, but as he put it, this will also spur him on to work even more. Even if the young receiver did not make it this year, he is undoubtedly a player to watch in the future. He will be unique for many years to come.
Above all, he and the Detroit Lions have an incredible postseason ahead of them. There are many strong teams in the NFC, so the Lions will need to remain focused if they hope to go far in the postseason. This will undoubtedly inspire Brown even more to excel in the postseason this year and to return strong the following season.
