JUST IN: Liam Rosenior gives details prior to the international break

Hull City’s exciting 2-2 draw with Leicester City at the MKM Stadium on Saturday marked their last Championship match for three weeks. They were forced to postpone their planned trip to play-off opponents Coventry City on Saturday due to their FA Cup involvement.

Due to this postponement and the March international break, City won’t play again until Easter weekend. On Good Friday, March 29, the Tigers welcome relegation-threatened Stoke City, and on Easter Monday, they travel rival Leeds United.

The Tigers need to win nine games to guarantee their play-off spot, starting with their visit from Stoke City. Head coach Liam Rosenior has altered his strategy from previous breaks because of the importance of these remaining games.

During international and other prolonged breaks, Rosenior has previously been eager to offer the players time off and away from the training field, but the group will remain together the entire time.

His players will practice as usual this week, as though they were preparing for the trip to the CBS Arena, but they will have Sunday and Saturday off before taking a flight on Monday, March 18, to Antalya, where they will spend six days at the Regnum Carya resort for a warm weather training camp. The City team will practice normally on that week-long excursion and play a friendly match, which is anticipated to happen at the end of the week.

The players, 50 supporters, and their guests will then depart for England on March 23. On Monday, March 25, the players will return to training to prepare for their Friday afternoon match against the Potters, which will be crucial to their hopes of finishing in the top six.

In addition to the competition they will face in Turkey, Rosenior’s players will engage in a private game amongst themselves during their training regimen.
