Hull City’s visit to Elland Road to play Leeds United comes in a little more than a week. As the campaign nears its conclusion, both teams are vying for promotion.
City needs to put in a lot of work if they want to finish in the top six, even though United is vying for the championship. The Tigers have a game in hand over rivals Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion despite being in seventh place and three points outside of the play-off spots.
On Easter Monday, Liam Rosenior’s squad will go to West Yorkshire without their first-choice striker, Liam Delap. Due to a knee injury, the Manchester City loanee, who has scored seven goals since relocating to the MKM Stadium, hasn’t played since January.
In response to a question on Delap’s level of fitness, Rosenior stated: “Everything I’m hearing is that he’s improving steadily and moving ahead of schedule. Not to put too much pressure on you, but we’re hoping to have him in for a few weeks around mid-April at the latest.
Because of their resources and facilities, Manchester City has agreed to treat him until he is well enough to resume full training, so when he returns to us, he will be in peak condition. That will be like a new player when that happens, in my opinion, as it’s what’s best for him. We have really missed him.”
This week, Rosenior and his team continued their preparations for the Championship run-in at a training camp in Turkey. On Good Friday, City hosts Championship underdogs Stoke City before their televised trip to Elland Road.
