For a long time, Keane Lewis-Potter was the only graduate of the Hull City academy to play for England’s Under-21 team. Since then, the former Tiger has made several appearances for his nation, much to the satisfaction of Tigers supporters, who are having an incredible season.
Jaden Philogene, Tyler Morton, and Liam Delap were the three members of Lee Carsley’s team from City last month; all three had scored goals in recent games.
In a historic development, all three of them scored goals on their debuts for their countries. Delap scored in the 3-0 victory over Luxembourg in September, followed by two goals and an assist from Philogene in the incredible 9-1 victory over Serbia. Morton sealed the series by sweeping in the first game against Northern Ireland last month.
Jacob Greaves might have joined Lewis-Potter, who is currently at Brentford and scored his first Premier League goal earlier this month against Aston Villa. Before he left the age group, the center-back was under observation by England, but he had to contend with fierce competition.
In addition, Carsley discussed Greaves’ potential and how highly regarded the 23-year-old defender was and is for the Tigers, even if he is no longer eligible for the Under-21 team.
Carsley told Hull Live, “I watched Jacob a lot last season, and he was very close.” “He came very close, but it was very challenging to play center back.” It was Taylor (Harwood-Bellis) and Levi (Colwill) Charlie Cresswell. I really like Jacob, but we had four or five really nice ones. He’s performing well at Hull and is a fantastic player.”
