This summer, Oxford United may have to fight to hang onto the attacker.
The League One team has had the 29-year-old Josh Murphy on their roster since 2022.
Representatives from QPR, Hull, West Brom, Sunderland, Southampton, and Minnesota United have reportedly been interested in him, according to The Sun.
Murphy is now scheduled to become a free agent after his Oxford contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
This season, he has made 32 appearances across all competitions, with eight goals and five assists.
The former England youth international relocated to the U’s a few years ago in an attempt to restart his career, and he is now hoping to assist them in being promoted to the Championship.
But at the moment, his long-term prospects are uncertain, and his likelihood of sticking put will probably rely on the league they play in.
Murphy progressed through Norwich City’s academy system and played 100 games for the first team while still a young player, scoring eighteen goals.
In order to gain experience, he also had loan stints at MK Dons and Wigan Athletic away from Carrow Road.
The Londoner spent four years at Cardiff City before joining the U’s, spending part of that time with Preston North End. He departed the Canaries permanently in 2018.
Murphy might help QPR’s attacking options as they battle to maintain their position in the second division.
Both Hull and West Brom have their sights set on the play-offs, with three games remaining to determine the latter’s fate.
