JUST IN : Former 4-Star Wide Receiver Leaves Georgia Bulldogs…

The Georgia Bulldogs recently defeated Florida State in a huge bowl game. After the official end of the season, players, like many teams, continue to arrive through the transfer site. CJ Smith, a former four-star wide receiver, declared he was going to use the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound wide receiver didn’t see the field much in 2023. He only caught six passes for 116 yards on the year. That had little to do with his talent and more to do with the amount of great wide receivers on the roster. As with many top-tier recruits who do not see a lot of playing time, Smith decided to try and find a program where he could maybe be a featured player.

2024 Outlook

The Georgia Bulldogs likely aren’t very concerned. They have plenty of talent coming in and players leaving should be expected in the current college football landscape. What should concern them is the gauntlet they will face next season. They open against Clemson who is not the perennial contender it used to be but definitely isn’t a pushover. Then in the SEC regular season, they have Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Florida, and Ole Miss. It will be tough to go unbeaten with that schedule but a loss in the SEC isn’t a death sentence for the playoffs.

Can the Georgia Bulldogs get back on top of the college football world in 2024? They ended the season with a bang and showed the world that they are still one of the best teams in the country.
