The Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears will play in Week 14, and the team has already revealed roster changes. Michael Niese, an offensive lineman, was promoted by the Lions from the practice squad for Sunday’s match. Bruce Irvin, a veteran, does not seem to have been promoted by the squad this week. Irvin faced Saints quarterback Derek Carr in 11 defensive snaps last week and recorded a sack. The seasoned defensive lineman thanked Detroit’s coaching staff for giving him time to prepare for football before making his debut.
According to Irvin, “at this point in my career, this stuff is like riding a bike,” Pro Football Talk reported. “I’ve done this for a very long time. It will reappear. All I can say is that I’m relieved they didn’t try to push me out of there the moment I arrived. They allowed me some time to acclimate and get into football shape. You know, that was evident today. Unfortunately, center Frank Ragnow was ruled out against the Bears, which forced the coaching staff to start a highly respected team with nine different lineups this season.
Value of new cornerback Kindle Vildor
The former Bears defensive back was added to the 53-man active roster this week after being promoted from the Lions practice squad. This week, head coach Dan Campbell was questioned about Vildor’s contributions.
We have, however, faced him in a game. We’ve been able to observe him, then. Crossover footage that genuinely had to work against him, so I’ve always appreciated the kind of competitor and athlete he is,” Campbell remarked. “He’s a perfect fit for our work. He is – due to his ability to perform a variety of tasks. We use him in a range of coverages because he is a tough guy who will tackle. He’s a cunning and clever man. He’s skilled at hiding, but look, here’s your chance to get up, give him a little competition, and watch what happens.
Colby Sorsdal cross-training
Detroit’s rookie lineman is anticipated to start at right guard against the Bears, with Graham Glasgow likely to play center. Notwithstanding his setbacks against the Packers on Thanksgiving, Detroit’s coaching staff feels at ease using the former fifth-round choice all over the offensive line.
He has received cross-training during training camp and the current season. Ben Johnson stated, “I believe that if you really looked at it, he may have lined up on the right side a little bit more than the left side during that time, but he’s getting a lot more comfortable playing interior football.” “It doesn’t really matter what side he is on.”
