Following an MRI on Sunday, T.J. Watt’s brother J.J. Watt revealed that his brother, the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, had sustained a Grade 2 MCL sprain against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday.
After a few weeks of rest and recuperation, the former defensive end described this as his younger brother’s “best case scenario.” In regards to his brother’s health, the elder Watt also stated that “everything else looks pristine.”
After running into teammate Montravius Adams during the third quarter of Saturday’s game, Watt left the game. Watt’s injury was described as “devastating” in a tweet at the time by his elder brother.
On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills’ loss to the Miami Dolphins or the Jacksonville Jaguars’ tie or loss to the Tennessee Titans may guarantee the Steelers a postseason berth.
The Steelers will probably play without their best pass rusher in the postseason if they advance.
Watt is regarded as a frontrunner to win the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award, which he already took home in 2021. He recorded his 19th sack during the 17–10 victory on Saturday.
