JUST IN : Bengals Elevate Two Players From Practice Squad Ahead of Finale…

CINCINNATI — The Bengals elevated wide receiver Stanley Morgan Jr. and cornerback Sidney Jones IV for Sunday’s season finale against the Browns.

Morgan gives Cincinnati another option at wide receiver with Tee Higgins expected to miss the game with a hamstring injury. Jones bolsters their cornerback depth with Chidobe Awuzie potentially out.

CB Sidney Jones and wide receiver Stanley Morgan are being elevated by the Bengals for the season’s last game, according Jay Morrison.

Jones, 27, was previously selected by the Eagles in the second round in 2017. At the beginning of the 2020 season, the Eagles dismissed him, and he subsequently joined on with the Jaguars’ practice squad.

Jones was eventually brought into Jacksonville’s active roster. He was re-signed by the Jaguars in 2021 to a one-year, $1.75 million contract, but right out of camp, the Seahawks acquired him in exchange for a sixth-round pick. Before dismissing Jones in November, Seattle re-signed him to a one-year, $3.6 million contract for 2022.

Jones later signed a deal with the Raiders, and he played in seven games for the team before 2023, when he was added to the Bengals practice squad.

Jones has played in two Bengals games in 2023, but he has not yet accumulated any stats.
