Josh Kerr to captain athletics team for Paris 2024 Olympic games

Josh Kerr, an Olympic bronze medallist in the 1500 meters, indoor 3000 meters, and world champion in the 1500 meters of athletics, has been elected captain of the Paris 2024 athletics squad.

Kerr, who will represent Team GB in the 1500m, was elected to the position by his teammates in athletics. He will be responsible for motivating the 64-person athletics squad by giving the customary Captain’s address during the team’s last meeting this evening (Sunday, July 28).

“Congratulations to Josh for receiving this honor from his team-mates for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” said Paula Dunn, Olympic Head Coach of UK Athletics. They voted for him to take on this responsibility, which is a testimonial to his character and demeanor.

“I am aware of the team’s admiration for him due to his professionalism, and his unwavering commitment to his work is motivating everyone at training camp.”

“I’m truly honored by my teammates’ trust in me to lead us into these Games,” Kerr stated. I want to do all in my power to assist us win those percentage battles over the next few weeks, supporting our seasoned players and being completely transparent with our novices.

“We want to repay the ‘best of the best’ support staff and setup that these athletes have received in order to prepare for these Games with our performances next week.”
