NBA media were informed by Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone that star point player Jamal Murray might miss time because of an ankle ailment.
Murray has a sprained ankle on his left ankle.
Murray did not participate in the Portland Trail Blazers game on Saturday, March 23. The Nuggets, who are now 50-21 on the season, defeated the Blazers 114-111 in the end despite playing without star center Nikola Jokic.
Murray is shooting 47.5% from the field, 41.9% from outside the arc, and 85.5% from the free-throw line this season, averaging 20.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. In 54 games, the Kentucky product has 11 double-doubles.
Murray was questioned about never being selected to an All-Star squad throughout his career in a February interview with NBA reporter Sam Amick of The Athletic. Murray, 27, said that he would want to be an All-Star, but he already is one during the postseason.
Murray stated, “Obviously, I would love to be an All-Star.” “I would be honored to receive such acknowledgement. However, in my opinion, winning in the playoffs allows you to demonstrate your abilities on the largest stages and defeat the so-called All-Stars, after which it’s all irrelevant.
“In the postseason, when it matters most, I’m an All-Star.” You want the greatest to take the lead, don’t you? And I believe I succeed in doing that. In that sense, I kind of backed myself up. That is all. That’s the reality. Thus, it merely adds gasoline to the flames.
Last season, the Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat in five games to win the championship. In the Finals, Murray averaged 21.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 10.0 assists.
“However, I don’t feel that much psychological pain from not being chosen as an All-Star,” Murray remarked. “I am a champion, and I haven’t made it in a long time. And I get to play with the greatest player in the world on the greatest team in the world.
