Now that he’s officially declared his desire to be traded out of the Minnesota Vikings, Justin Jefferson has poured gasoline to the fire. His top destination would be an absurd reunion at LSU with former teammates Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase.
Although there have previously been whispers and articles regarding the Cincinnati Bengals and LSU maybe getting back together, Jefferson’s own words have added actual fuel to the fire.
Superstar Kevin Hart questioned Jefferson on a podcast, asking if the standout receiver is envious of his former LSU colleagues who now play in Cincinnati. Jefferson hinted at his wish to join them and was open about his jealously of their relationship and the fact that they got to do it in college and the NFL!
Jefferson expressed his affection for his former teammates and said outright that he would have loved to be included.
“There is definitely some jealousy on that side, but I still adore them together and their chemistry.”
The Bengals would have to pay a huge price for it, but it also seems like they’re going to let all of their other receivers go pretty soon. The team will need to find another receiver option because Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are likely to leave this season or the next.
Ja’Marr and Burrow would be ecstatic about it, since Chase has previously expressed his desire to bring Jefferson into the fold.
The team and Jefferson would both be very interested in seeing it through, even though it is a long shot. All of this madness was started by Chase.
Many fans thought the team would be interested in matching its LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with the all-time receivers from LSU after Chase posted a mysterious tweet on Tuesday. A former standout Bengals player has now suggested that this transaction might be legitimate.
Tyler Eifert, a former tight end for the Bengals, tweeted after Chase started this story.
“Sources inform me that Jefferson to Cincinnati is on the move.”
Similar to Chase’s tweet, this one has gone viral. “Former Bengals star Tyler Eifert jokes that Vikings All-Pro Justin Jefferson is headed to Cincinnati,” the Cincy Jungle said in response to the story. Everyone began to assume that this was a prank. Eifert, however, responded to the article’s post in a bizarre way and made it clear he wasn’t kidding.
