James Furlong of Hull City may be moving out of the MKM Stadium in the summer.

Maribor is reportedly showing interest in the 22-year-old ahead of the transfer window’s opening later this month, according to Slovenian publication Sportklub.

The Prva Liga team is already getting ready for the upcoming campaign, looking to strengthen their starting lineup.

Maribor will try to close the gap on champions Celje after finishing second in the top division table the previous year and missing out on the championship by eight points.

Hull City | Furlong: A Proud Moment

The Turkish partner for Maribor is Acun Ilicali, the owner of Hull, and any transaction this summer may depend on this partnership to be completed.

Furlong left Brighton to sign with Hull last year after spending time on loan at Motherwell in Scotland.

Nevertheless, the Irishman did not play in any league games for the Tigers, who came up just short of a play-off spot.

The full-back made his Yorkshire team debut in a 2-1 loss for Liam Rosenior’s team against Birmingham City in the FA Cup third round in January.

Due to a knee ailment that made it difficult for him to get into games, that ended up being his lone club appearance of the season.

Just a year after joining Hull from Brighton, Furlong is already thinking about leaving the Championship team.
