Hull City is considering a move for Hamilton Academical youngster Lewis Latona

According to a Daily Record story, Hull City is evaluating Lewis Latona, a young player for Hamilton Academical, who is on trial.
In an attempt to strengthen their junior ranks, Hull City is keeping an eye on the midfielder in anticipation of a possible summer raid. Due to their elimination from the play-offs, Liam Rosenior’s team now faces a demanding few months.

After ten days of being with the Championship team, Latona, 17, is a free agent. The Tigers must decide whether to give him a contract to entice him to come south. For now, his future is still uncertain.

The Daily Record reports that he will not participate for his current club in their forthcoming Scottish League One play-off matches against Alloa Athletic. The club is attempting to return to the second division after placing second in the regular season, only behind the unchallenged Falkirk.

Latona may be viewed by Hull City as a valuable long-term asset, and should they manage to sign him, he will almost certainly make his debut with the senior team’s youth squad first.

The boy has been enrolled in Hamilton Academical for his whole academic career and has advanced through the academy’s levels.

He has appeared in one first-team game this season and has been a consistent player for the Accies at several different youth levels in recent years. But with the Tigers showing interest, John Rankin’s team will have to fight to hold onto him.

Following the conclusion of the season, Hull City has not yet released their retained list. Following their final-day 1-0 loss away to Plymouth Argyle, they ended seventh overall, three points outside the top six as West Brom and Norwich City went ahead of them.

This summer at MKM Stadium will be a transitional one as many players, including Adama Traore, Greg Docherty, Aaron Connolly, Billy Sharp, and others, are scheduled to become free agents. Loanees like Liam Delap, Ryan Giles, Fabio Carvalho, Tyler Morton, and Noah Ohio are expected to return to their parent clubs.
Latona is one of the players that might go through the front door if Hull City decides to give him some terms. The MKM Stadium will see both incomings and outgoings.

He had the chance to demonstrate his abilities during his recent trial period, and moving to England would be a huge help to his career as he attempts to establish himself going forward.
