Lewie Coyle, the club captain, and Ryan Giles, a left-back on loan, will be examined by Hull City as the Tigers get ready for their upcoming crucial matchup at home against Middlesbrough on Wednesday night.
Due to injuries, both Giles and captain Coyle missed Saturday’s convincing 3-1 victory against Cardiff City. Giles was left behind in East Yorkshire to continue his recuperation from a groin strain he sustained on Monday night during the loss against Leeds, while Coyle traveled to South Wales with the team.
Head coach Liam Rosenior of City is hoping that both will be ready to play against Boro as his team looks to build on their impressive victory against the Bluebirds, making it two straight wins, and record just their second home league win in the previous 12 games.
“Lewie, it sums him up, he was in a lot of pain after the whack that he took against Leeds,” Rosenior stated. “I want to go play, gaffer, so inject me,” he said. We have three games in a week, and in addition to managing the team, I also have responsibility for the players.
“I anticipated playing a physical game. Cardiff is incredibly talented when it comes to set plays. I will definitely think of Coylely again for the next one.
“It’s not a major injury; Gilo wasn’t ready to practice (on Friday), so we wanted him to stay home instead of boarding an aircraft and flying out to ensure he gets enough recovery. He’s touch and go for Wednesday. I felt Matty Jacob was amazing and that he didn’t do a single incorrect thing.”
