Liam Rosenior said Hull City’s performance deserved better than a heartbreaking 3-1 loss to Yorkshire rivals Leeds United, who are vying for promotion.
After Fábio Carvalho’s deft finish negated Sam Byram’s early header, late goals from Dan James and Crysencio Summerville caused consecutive losses over Easter.
“I’m heartbroken by the outcome as it wasn’t justified,” Rosenior expressed.
As a Hull City manager, some of our play made me pleased to be on the touchline.
“I want this club to be about the way we pressed man for man, the way we kept the ball at times, the way we frustrated them, and the way we opened up chances.”
“We must accept the risks we take. We must improve our moment management. We’re onto something incredibly good if we accomplish it.
It is my responsibility and the responsibility of those players to play at that level consistently for the next seven games.
Things could swiftly alter if we do that.
“We played our way back into the game so well,” Rosenior continued. We finally score a goal that we deserved, a really well-executed goal by Fábio, and I thought we had total control of the game.
The second half is same. We overruled them. Since they are the fastest team in the league, they will have breakaways.
“We miss out on so many wonderful occasions and situations that we create.
In the final moments, we concede a penalty. The final objective is what will occur if you gamble and disregard caution.
“That wasn’t even a 2-1 or even a 3-1 score.”
