Hull City boss gives verdict ahead of Leeds United game

Liam Rosenior, the head coach of Hull City, looked quite disappointed following his team’s 2-0 home loss to Stoke City on Friday. However, following a quiet weekend, the Tigers leader will be expecting a response from his team when they play Leeds United on Monday night.

For the Potters’ visit, Rosenior made two changes to the team that played so brilliantly against Leicester three weeks prior in their most recent Championship match.

While Abdush Omur was selected on the bench, Noah Ohio received his first start up front in place of the suspended Jacob Greaves, who was replaced by Sean McLoughlin.

The performance against the Potters was actually so bad, especially from the attacking unit, that Rosenior would have been justified in making a lot of changes. Players like Anass Zaroury, Jaden Philogene, and Fabio Carvalho were hardly contributing to the attack, and Oio, who was making his debut, was mostly relying on scraps.

It is quite likely that Rosenior will stick to his tried and true high press system against Southampton and Leicester at home, given that is how he has set up away from home this season. This is especially true of his recent away games.

Rosenior will probably choose to start with Zaroury, Philogene, Carvalho, and Omur as the front four, meaning Ohio will probably drop back to the bench and Omur will return. However, he might be tempted to bring Tyler Morton back into the starting lineup and might even sacrifice Zaroury.

Given Greaves’s forced absence, the defense essentially selects itself, thus any changes will almost definitely be made in midfield and in the top part of the pitch.

Allsop, Giles, McLoughlin, Jones, Coyle, Seri, Slater, Zaroury, Carvalho, Omur, and Philogene are the players that City is expected to start with.
