Breaking Bad cast now: Where are the cult TV show’s stars 11 years on?

The drug drama debuted in 2008 and has become a cult classic – here is a look at what happened to the rest of the star-studded cast of the game-changing series

Cult crime and drug drama Breaking Bad’s finale aired 11 years ago this month and brought an end to one of TV’s biggest shows. Breaking Bad starred Bryan Cranston as bumbling and mild manner teacher Walter White who cooks crystal meth to help pay for his cancer treatment and leave money behind for his wife Skyler White, played by Anna Gunn and son Walter White Jr, played by RJ Mitte.

Walter was joined by streetwise and petty criminal Jesse Pinkman as the pair cooked up some of the purest meth in America and quickly attracted the attention of the drug cartel and DEA agent Hank Schrader, played by Dean Norris.

After its debut in 2008, the series slowly gathered momentum and viewers and became a huge streaming hit towards the end of its run in 2013. The series was critically acclaimed and saw Cranston win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series four times, Aaron Paul win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series three times and Anna Gunn won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series twice.

The series’ popularity and interest in its wider universe sparked the Netflix movie El Camino starring Aaron Paul in October 2019 and spin-off Better Call Saul. This series, which was beloved by critics and viewers but remarkably won no Golden Globes, starred Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill, Jonathan Banks return as Mike Ehrmantraut and Giancarlo Esposito explore the origins of high-level drug distributor Gus Fring.
