Florida State pass rusher Jared Verse is set to visit the Chicago Bears

Last season, the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos both struggled to consistently apply pressure on quarterbacks; the latter team finished with the second-fewest sack total in the NFL with just 42 sacks.

Now that this problem has arisen, both teams are turning to the draft for assistance, and rumors have it that they are both keeping a close eye on a huge potential.

The Broncos and Bears are expected to host Florida State star pass rusher Jared Verse, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

Verse, who is among the greatest at his position in the draft, had an incredible two seasons at Florida State, recording 18 sacks and 29.5 tackles for loss.

This meeting would indicate that Verse might be in play for the team with their other first-round pick at No. 9, or the Bears could be seeking to trade down and keep their options open, with Caleb Williams probably going first overall to the Bears.

The 12th selection, which Verse has been projected to go in most mock drafts, belongs to the Broncos.

Despite the fact that the Bears signed Montez Sweat to a 4-year, $98 million agreement after trading for him last season, neither team has sufficiently addressed the position in free agency.

Verse would jump in and be relied upon to produce double-digit sacks right out of the bat since, apart from the Broncos’ quarterback void, pass rushers are one of, if not the biggest need for each of these teams.

Verse is definitely in the running to go among the top 10 picks in this draft after dominating everyone at the NFL Combine.
