The star player for Duke, Kyle Filipowski, has declared his choice for the NBA Draft.
On Friday, Filipowski made the announcement on social media that he will forgo his remaining Duke eligibility in order to enter the NBA Draft. Thanks to Duke supporters, coaches, and teammates, Filipowski wrote in the message that he hoped to “make you all proud.”
It is not shocking at all that Filipowski made this decision. For the Blue Devils, the center had a fantastic sophomore campaign, averaging 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest. Consensus-choice second-team All-American, he projects as a first-round pick in the June draft.
Apart from his performance on the floor, Filipowski inadvertently became the focal point of one of the most significant narratives during the collegiate basketball season. Luckily, he won’t have to deal with that problem at the following level.
