Forward Kasey McAteer of Leicester City is being “monitored” by Crystal Palace and Everton in advance of the January transfer window.
This season, the 22-year-old has made 13 appearances in all competitions and netted five goals. He is entering the last 18 months of his contract, which keeps him at Leicester through the summer of 2025.
McAteer has been connected to other switches in recent weeks besides this new one. According to reports, the forward is almost certain to formally pledge his allegiance to the Republic of Ireland.
Footballtransfers.com reports that Palace and Everton are monitoring his performances in front of the January transfer window. Although he “fits the bill” for Palace and their transfer requirements, they claim Everton is “considering a move”.
They assert that McAteer has informed them that Everton’s standing in the Premier League standings “will be a factor” in his decision-making. Also, according to the website, any transfer is anticipated to occur in the summer of 2019 rather than January.
