Bulgarian 16-year-old Radina Velichkova wins gold in the 100m sprint in Banska Bystrica

In Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, during the European Athletics U18 Championships, athletes from Bulgaria took home two medals. In the 100-meter sprint, Radina Velichkova took first place, while Hristiyan Kasabov took third in the 110-meter hurdles.

In addition to earning Bulgaria’s first title in this age category at a European competition, 16-year-old Velichkova set a national record for females with her final time of 11.46.

Miia Ott from Estonia came in third place in 11.62 seconds, followed by Shade Laporal from France in second place with 11.54 seconds.

In 13.47 seconds, Kasabov placed third in the 110-meter hurdles. Italian Kyan Escalona took first place with a time of 13.22 seconds, followed by Lucas Domergue in 13.34 seconds.
