BREAKING:Hull City sign Sheffield United star George Dickinson

After Sheffield United released George Dickinson, Hull City moved quickly to sign him. The East Yorkshire team has signed a one-year contract with the midfielder, and the club has the option to extend the agreement by another year.

After his Blades contract expires on July 1, the 19-year-old, who played for the Tigers’ Under-21 team while on trial during the 2023–24 season, will formally relocate to the MKM Stadium. Conor Sellars, the lead coach for the professional development phase, stated: “George trained with us for roughly ten days and played two games during that time. As a staff, we were quite happy with both his character in training and his game performances.

As the team prepares for the upcoming season, he will play a significant role. He has demonstrated true leadership abilities. He is incredibly skilled when in possession, but he is also very aggressive when not in it. We are quite eager to work with him, and our playing style will help him in a few ways.

Dickinson expressed his happiness at getting the deal “over the line” and expressed excitement about what lies ahead. He remarked, “I enjoy the way we play.” There is a freedom inside the system where you are free to have fun. I enjoy controlling the game when I have the ball in my hands, demonstrating my passing range, making tackles, and, above all, giving my all for the team.

“Conor Selars has performed incredibly well. He was really welcoming when I first arrived and made sure I knew what I was doing before we started any games or sessions. He also followed up with me over the weekend to see how I was doing and to reassure me, which I found comforting. I am forward to work with him.

Personally, I want to be fit and ready for preseason play. Chances won’t just fall into my lap; I have to be able to work for them. In the upcoming season, I want to spend as much time as possible with the first team.

Oliver Green has joined Scottish Championship team Livingston for an unknown price, according to confirmation from the Tigers. Green played for the first squad in three preseason games while serving as captain of City’s U-18 and U21 teams. He also relished his non-league loan stints with York City, Marske United, and Bridlington Town.

According to a City statement, “Livingston would have still been obligated to pay compensation for the cross-border transfer of a player under the age of 23 even though the 21-year-old’s contract was scheduled to expire on June 30. We wish Olly well north of the border and appreciate him for his efforts while he was a member of the club.”
