BREAKING:Caitlin Clark stands up in the face of media backlash

#IndianaFever’s Caitlin Clark on her name being weaponized in non-sports topics:“It’s not something I can control. … And to be honest, I don’t see a lot of it.”

Caitlin Clark is uninterested in the enormous media attention that has been directed towards her.

The Indiana Fever star has dominated hot-take shows’ conversation for the past month. Regretfully, a lot of those opinions are more influenced by politics and culture than by basketball.

Prior to the Fever’s matchup with the Atlanta Dream on Thursday, Clark was questioned by the media about how some people had “weaponized” her name in discussions about cultural wars. The youngster clarified that she tries to keep her thoughts on basketball and ignores the conversations going on around her.

“I try not to spend too much time or energy thinking about stuff like that because it’s not something I can control. And to be really honest, I seldom ever see it. Basketball is my job, as I’ve stated,” the woman remarked. “I can’t control anything outside of myself, therefore I won’t waste time worrying about it. Individuals are free to start conversations about whatever they wish to talk about. But I believe that my only purpose in being here is to play basketball.

Clark’s reply incensed a few individuals.
When Clark finally resurfaced during shootarounds, she was confronted about her reaction to individuals misusing her name for sexist, racist, and other offensive purposes.

“Those who use my name to further their goals should not be doing so. It is unsatisfactory and unacceptable. I’ve always admired and wanted to be a part of this league. Growing up, I looked up to several of the ladies in this league as my biggest role models and idols. It’s just fundamental human decency that everyone in this league should treat every single lady with the same level of respect. Simply be nice to them and act toward them how you would like to be treated.
