BREAKING:Aston Villa striker’s future is uncertain due to Chelsea’s interest

According to sources, Chelsea is “unsure” about whether to move forward with a bid for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran even if they have been granted permission to discuss personal terms.

The Colombian, who is reportedly valued at £40 million, is expected to be prepared to leave Villa. The Guardian claims that Chelsea is checking his past and that some at Villa Park are thought to have expressed concerns about his attitude. It also mentions that his wage demands could be a barrier.

Chelsea has implemented a policy of awarding lengthy, highly incentived contracts in an effort to reduce their labor expenditure. According to the source, they have been following the 20-year-old for some time, so there’s still a high chance the sale will close. For Villa, who want to raise money to improve their sustainability and profitability before making any signings, that would be quite welcome.

Villa has been in negotiations with Chelsea regarding a Conor Gallagher trade, and they have also expressed interest in Ian Maatsen, a left-back with a £35 million release clause from the Netherlands. Chelsea’s Maatsen is for sale after spending the second part of the previous campaign on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
