The race to sign Slovakian international David Hancko is set to battle Aston Villa, West Ham United, and Liverpool against each other.
Due to his remarkable performances for both club and country, David Hancko is now being watched by several elite clubs in Europe. Liverpool, Aston Villa, and West Ham United are all interested in signing the Feyenoord center defender before the 2019–20 season begins, according to an HITC report.
From joining the Dutch club in the summer of 2020 after leaving Sparta Prague, Hancko has elevated his skills. With 48 appearances and 10 goals contributed, the left-footed center defender had an outstanding 2023–24 campaign.
All set to hit his peak, clubs are prepared to wrest the 26-year-old from Feyenoord. Hancko’s defensive skills came to the forefront as Slovakia defeated Belgium in a thrilling match in their opening Euro 2024 match, despite his reputation as a ball player.
The teams vying for his signature are Aston Villa and West Ham. Aston Villa’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League has led Unai Emery to seek more talent and depth in his backline, and the 26-year-old would fit well in with his style.
The Hammers are lacking depth at center defense, since they only have three in their lineup following the departure of Angelo Ogbonna. Hancko is well-liked by West Ham, and he could prove beneficial to them.
The centre back for Feyenoord, who will cost almost half as much (£25 million) as Wolves captain Max Kilman, is currently being pushed by West Ham, who will pay approximately £50 million for him.
